This article from Paulick Report has some wonderful photos of the Queen at different horse related events and also a short video of her watching her horse, Estimate, winning the Gold Cup at Ascot. Love and Hugs, JB

        Dear Marshall,

You’re absolutely right in King Charles never being able to fill Her Majesty’s shoes, and that he will have to put on new shoes. He will need the prayers of the faithful. What a heavy weight he now carries…

        Hugs,

I too would like to join the chorus of RIP HRH. I sometimes wish I could go back to the 1400’s and meet my ancesters who lived in Buckinghamshire, a suburb of London. May everyone take a deep breath and pray for King Charles. This December, he’ll be as old as me. I certainly hope Sheena can sip a cup of heavenly tea with the Queen. May our Queen here also live a long life. Good Night everyone I find it too hard right now to say pleasant dreams.

Hovey posted a lovely tribute to Queen Elizabeth on his FB page, and I’m guessing that might be it for this week. I am still in shock. It was just a couple of days ago that she was greeting the new Prime Minister. She was an incredible woman and really did things royally right til the end. My father was born in Scotland so the people of Great Britain have always had a special place n my heart. I wish them peace at this sad time and hope as a new era begins.

      Dear Sandy,
I agree with everything you wrote — definitely an incredible woman, and she certainly did things right, royally. She was still performing her duties until the end. My grandfather’s ancestors were Scottish-Welsh, and I have always been an anglophile, plus our two countries are entwined and the alliance strengthened by the conflicts of the last century. We are allies, and it seems we have lost a best friend.
I like your last sentence of peace and hope. God save the King, and God save us all. I will see if I can view Hovey’s FB.

I watched the story of the passengers aboard a plane that had to land in New Zealand. The small town wound up with as many unexpected guests as there were residents in the town. They opened their hearts and homes for days. It was such a touching story. What a dreadful day that was but so many including those who lost their lives of course truly stepped up to meet the need. God bless them all.

I know this is a sad time for many of you. Me too. I do have a bit of good news though. After being trapped inside for the last three days due to SMOKE from the second biggest fire here in Oregon, due to a drop in temperature, a wind shift and a storm system coming up from California its reporte that by this afternoon or evening the smoke should be blown out of here. PHEW that was way too close. Thanks goodness for this site. I was able to keep an eye and an ear on both our Queens. May everyone wherever you are stay safe.

Sure hope everyone is safe. Dodged a bullet here. SMOKE from the 2nd biggest wildfire was blanketing our place quite nicely for the last three days and put us in the “HAZARDOUS” air quality category. Today we were up to just up to being “UNHEALTHY”. Fortunately however, due to dropping temperatures, a wind shift and a storm system from California, the smoke is now leaving us. PHEW! I know many if not all are very sad right now. I certainly hope you get over the worst part soon. Long Live our other Queen.

I saw a brief interview with John Godsden about Queen Elizabeth earlier this week, and I think he said what most of us subconsciously felt: “we thought she was immortal!” So grateful that we will be able to attend the funeral albeit from afar.

OMG Probably because of the fires, I hadn’t heard about Dortmund. He was a favorite of mine also. I echo the thought its a shame he had to be in Japan. Fingers crossed, but reports say there’s supposed to be a bit of rain coming that should be here by sometime tomorrow (Saturday). There are other reports that we might even get a flake or two of SNOW up on Mt. Bachelor. Both these events will be quite helpful to those of us here in Central Oregon. May all of you as well as our four hoofed friends be safe and well wherever you and they are.

    Greetings!
That is a beautiful Tapit filly!
There is rain in the area since Sunday, hopefully will help slow/stop the Mosquito fire up by Foresthill, CA.
Some bragging….. my 16 month old vizsla, Rosey, completed requirements for her GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP this weekend at shows in Vallejo! She is now Grand Champion Kiralyi Eleanor Rose! I am so proud of her. Now we will take some time off from the show ring and do fun stuff. she is still a baby, is not very happy in the ring, and just needs to build confidence. Now I truly have a “royal” household (Kiralyi means king or royalty in Hungarian) with 2 grand champions ruling over us humans!
I was so moved by Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. Beautiful. So many people paying their respects to a much loved monarch. She will be missed. I am named after her, my middle name is Elizabeth.

Yes, the funeral was very moving and beautifully carried out. I have been watching the BBC news channel since the news of her death was announced.
The Queen had such an eye for detail and such a talent for doing the right thing. This was affirmed in the ceremony and the execution of events leading up to yesterday’s services. She will definitely be missed.

So much is happening. Hope I don’t repeat too much. First two pieces of news from Pimlico 09/17. Justify;s first foal named How Lovely won her debut. Secondly, One of QEII’s horses Wes Newton won his race there also. Also, we did get enough rain to slow the big fire (Cedar Creek) . It’s being reported this morning that it’s going to rain lots more starting this afternoon and pretty much all night long. There has been already a MASSIVE improvement in the air quality here. PHEW! I’s also like to THANK everyone for your concern. May all of you be safe and well.
