Dear, dear, dear friends,
I am so proud and elated to share the news with you that I am now a MOM. I just gave birth to a lovely dark bay COLT, March 8th, at approximately 10:10 p.m. Eastern Time.
My adorable foal weighed in at 130 pounds, has a white star on his forehead….and some white on his feet. As Ann commented when she saw him, “he has polka dots on his feet, Zennie, just like YOU.”
All went very well with the foaling. I must say….I did it like a CHAMP!
My foal is absolutely precious…and I am so pleased to share this entire experience with all of you…my precious and loving friends.
We are all still just getting acclimated to this entire new experience. I’m doing great. MY BABY is doing great….and Bernie is also excited! I’ll update you again with some more photos in the morning.

I have been waiting and watching for this day to come. I am half way through my cancer treatments at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD and when I opened facebook this moring and saw the story of your baby’s birth it was on of the happiest days of my life. He is so beautiful, just stunning!!!
I am so happy everything went well for you and your baby. No matter what you decide to name him it will be wonderful. You are wonderful.

Am so beyond excited for you Zenyatta!!! He is absolutely the cutest foal ever! And you look just beautiful! As always! I think he has your ears and sweet little face!!! I know Bernardini is probably jumping for joy! I think his name should be “FromBtoZwithLove”…how cute is that!
I have to tell you that you have been such an inspiration to me to keep going. Karina Bussell was a dear friend of mine through FB and she was always trying to things to keep my spirits up and never once did she let on that she was also sick. I’m going to miss her so much. So much of your giving spirit shined through in her! I am not terminally ill like she was, but when I was 33 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and went through 6 months of chemo after surgery, then 18 months to the day from my first surgery, I had to have my ovaries removed because the cancer had spread, and went through another 6 months of chemo. All was well until late 2010 when my kidneys started shutting down and I had to start the process to find a living kidney donor as well as go through all the testing to get put on the national donor list. My kidneys were shutting down so quickly, that by February of last year I had to start dialysis (which is almost worse than chemo)! but reading your daily diary entries gave me hope and helped to keep going, even when I wanted nothing more than to just give up. My best friend from childhood turned out to be an exact match for me and this past August she gave me one of her kidneys. I am still struggling with a lot of things, but YOU have kept me going and believing in myself to not ever give up! And now that you little one is here, I am even more determined to work through all of my health issues.
It is my one hope in life that I will get to meet you one day and be as lucky as Karina was to at least just be able to touch you and give you a hug and kiss and bring you as many carrots as you can stand! I will keep hoping for that for as long as I’m still alive my sweet Zenyatta! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being YOU and giving me and so many others hope to keep going in the face of adversity! I love you!!!

Sharon, a lot of people seem to agree with you about “Zendini”, but I just haven’t been able to love it, somehow sounds too much like “Houdini”. However I do like it much better than “Bernyatta”, another popular choice.
