Zenyatta News, Z Princess

Zenyatta’s Filly is Weaned

Happy Friday!

Zenyatta’s first filly was weaned last week. Everything went well, and they are both happily adjusting to independence. Z Princess, now in a new barn and paddock, is quite at home with her familiar group of foals. We’re excited to see this little one grow up!

Meanwhile, Zenyatta has been relaxing with her fellow mares and even hosting some special guests. A crew from NBC came to visit The Queen yesterday. We don’t want to give away any secrets, but we can share this cute shot of Zenyatta giving them some help!

Hope media’s putting together a bio piece on the Queen. It would be such a gift to all of us who dearly love that mare.

Ah, Zilly looks so contented being out in the pasture with her buds. And Zenny…leaving goobers on the camera lens? But they’re such FABULOUS goobers! I’m sure the guy won’t mind.
Again, thanks SO much Team Z and LE staff for sharing the lives of Zenny and kids with us.

They’ve already given her the year off. She will not foal in 2015.

She will be bred in 2015 (probably late January early February) and she will foal from that breeding in 2016.

No, that was this year. Zenyatta is barren for 2014, so she can be bred nice and early in the season this winter.

I’d like to see her go on a “European Tour” as a queen ought. Truenicks gives a Galileo/Zenyatta cross an A+!

They already have. She’ll be bred in 2015 for a 2016 foal. If they didn’t then they would be giving her two years off.

A new life stage for Our Princess but as Team Z always described her as very independent, probably not too devastating for hear to no longer be at Mama’s side. And Zenny — hamming it up with NBC I see. I’m thinking: a Breeders Cup Special perhaps?

Hello Z family. I’m back from London, England and had a fabulous time visiting galleries and museums, going to the theatre and soaking up all that a city I love had to offer. My son, who was seeing London for the first time, is IN LOVE!

So happy all is well with the Princess and Mama Queen Z. Of course, they are both so classy and I’m sure do everything in style. Looking forward to whatever NBC has in store for our very special Mama. She lights up the world with all her “doings”. Thank you Lane’s End for sharing all her news with her family of fans. Always, always think of you at the Breeder’s Cup in Santa Anita. Never, ever was there a moment like that in my lifetime.

Exciting news again, another one out of the nest and on her own. She’ll do just fine playing with her friends as she seems so independent. Zenny is such a ham, always did love that camera and all the attention. Can’t wait to see what they have planned with her at the BC, maybe a special cameo of our favorite race mare. Thank you Mosses and Team Z for all you do in keeping us informed on the special moments in her life……we hang on every thread.

Dear Team Z.So happy the weaning went so smoothly for both mother and daughter. We could all see how independent the PrinZess was becoming recently so it was a natural progression.Nevertheless,it always is a little sad when a child flies the nest.I’m sure, though,Zenyatta will have some fun-filled months until next spring.I know it will never happen but I have often wished she could visit one of our European stallions, the thought of one of the best mated with the best!Wow!Happy days Zenyatta and PrinZess always remember what your mama taught you and you will never go wrong.Love and hugs.SheenaXXX

Z Princess is just like her two brothers…ready to accept the next stage of her life because her mom gave her just the right guidence. Zenny is still magnificient, magnetic and intelligent. Thank you, Team Z for giving us another look into her amazing life.

I hope it is under consideration that it would be the perfect time for Zenyatta to be bred to Galileo since she won’t have a newborn foal in tow next spring. Her half-sister Balance had a Frankel foal this year, and Royal Delta was bred to Galileo and will foal next Spring. Galileo is far and away the best stallion at stud in the world–and she is at an age where the travel shouldn’t take too much out of her! A few months enjoying the Irish spring and then back home to foal…she deserves the best, and he is it!

I too would like to see Zenyatta bred to both Frankel and Galileo. Would be real nice foals and definite classic distance runners. Read somewhere that a Galileo son is going to be standing in the USA for 2015 but can not remember which one. I think Deep Impact would be another good choice but he is in Japan. He won the Japan triple crown which is not an easy feat plus all kinds of other awards for racing. He is by Sunday Silence, no Mr. Prospector on top or bottom and he is siring some real good race horses over there. Too bad the TB jockey club still does not allow AI and shipped semen like every other horse registry does. It is so much safer to collect a stallion, ship the semen overnight and AI a mare at the farm than live cover and also there is not the risk involved with transporting the mare even if just down the road or across the world.

I’m not at all surprised that a special about Zenyatta and an update on her life and new career are being produced. She is without a doubt a phenomenon of gargantuan proportions. What horse in history has garnered so much attention both before and after their careers on the track have ended? By any measure, she still garners attention and deservedly so! Nearly 345,000 Facebook fans, news of her or her foals always brings with it comment and notice. Both on and off the track, Zenyatta personifies, to borrow from Dottie, all that is good and positive about the sport. When one considers that it has been four years since she stepped on a racetrack, it boggles the mind that still, she is in such demand, that any news about her is eagerly sought.

The fairy dust that surrounds her also spreads to her horse buddies, for attention paid to her is so positive that it spills over to the public’s image about the sport. Thanks Team Z, LE, and the Mayberrys for sharing the dream that is Zenyatta with her adoring public. Long live the Queen!

    Hugs to all

Dear Max.I hope Newmarket knows who is coming to town next Monday, have they got the flags out,a superstar is visiting! The red carpet will be rolled out at the clinic!I hope he doesn’t realize TB’s are treated there.I suggest he ditches Herman the German, a vet who uses his own products!!Lily is adorable and they love each other to bits.
Have you seen the draw for the Arc?Taghrooda is in stall 15 but then Treve won from there last year.AL and Ruler are 7&6 Treve is 3 this year. There are good vibes about Ectot. Heard about Rich Ricci’s plans Faugheen is staying with hurdles,Champagne Fever is going for longer distances. They think they will keep Vautour in hurdling but aren’t certain what to do with Annie Power says she’s a puzzle. If she kept her date with Mad Moose she’d be a lot more puzzled!I enjoyed your post about Kind. There are volunteers who help the toads to cross the road at mating time! The Moose must be free.Safe trips to all horses in the UK, US and France this weekend.Sheena

Sheena. Kind is a wonderful horse. Saw a video about her which said that she was Kind in name and kind by nature. Let us know if you hear anything about her. Juddmonte has been strangely quiet on that front.
Yes, I know that there are toad protectors to help the romantic toads across the roads. I’m all for that. It reminds me of Toad in Wind in the Willows. Love that Toad. Badgers also are popular features where you are.
Those wild chestnuts together would be something. Always thought that Annie must be unusual if Moose was interested in her. Moose does not go for the ordinary types. She’s also a tiny horse. Moose must like looking up to the ladies.
The Arc draw is fascinating. Tagi, Harp Star and Tapestry together? That’s something. Al did better than last year. Go for it, Al. Watch out for Gold Ship.
Heard that the short one will be back very soon. Wonder what the horses think?
      Let the Moose go free.

Aw, Our baby girl is becoming a nice young lady. It really helps weaning away from their mommies when they are still in company with the safety and familiarity of their best friends, just like us humans. The first thing I thought of with NBC was a Breeders Cup “Where are they now” bio spot. Wherever it surfaces, I cannot wait to see it!! What a ham she is :)

Zenyatta knows she’s a star and loves the camera. It looks like Z Princess looked straight at the camera just knowing they were there for her! This family will never be camera shy!
I agree with others that the NBC piece may be connected to the Breeders Cup.

Soon we’ll be seeing Coz in his maiden, Ziconic in school and Z Princess growing strong and smart with other yearlings…..then Zenyatta will visit a new boyfriend and it is a wonderful life!

Thank you Team Z for always keeping us in the loop.
