Zenyatta’s Filly is Weaned

Happy Friday!

Zenyatta’s first filly was weaned last week. Everything went well, and they are both happily adjusting to independence. Z Princess, now in a new barn and paddock, is quite at home with her familiar group of foals. We’re excited to see this little one grow up!

Meanwhile, Zenyatta has been relaxing with her fellow mares and even hosting some special guests. A crew from NBC came to visit The Queen yesterday. We don’t want to give away any secrets, but we can share this cute shot of Zenyatta giving them some help!

Zenyatta and her baby girl are such beauties… I can’t believe she’s old enough to be weaned. Can’t wait to see what NBC has in store for us!

The Princess looks like she is on guard against any potential predators on behalf of her little band. Kind of appropriate for a daughter of War Front.

Just adore your post especially. It’s so emotional and sweet, and expresses what we all feel about Zenny and those connected to her. Gosh, how does one explain how seeing her place that precious nose of hers smack dab into a camera lens just assuming she can get away with it and she does, bring such pleasure to those who have known her over the years. You know, maybe we can now see her playful self again with no kids to raise. Love it! The Mosses put a lot of thought into her happiness and overall health. Of course she will have more wonderful babies to share with us, but until then, who knows. Z will remind us how we all came to know and appreciate the love of horses once again. Chills anticipating what’s coming soon.

    Hi Zenny
Isn’t this exciting! A photo shoot with NBC. You know Zenny, you fit the old phrase to a tee: Gone from racing but never forgotten! Now if I may, let me take a guess, NBC is interviewing you because Coz is getting ready to make his first debut and you are going to help him make a big splash on his first race day!

Another idea might be that you are going to be featured at this year’s BC. I want you to know Zenny, that many of your fans come from all over the country to the BC, and we have our annual group picture taken in front of your statue. We come to help celebrate new horses running in the Classic, and we come to celebrate you, Zenny.

Well you keep us posted. I keep looking for an announcement that Coz is going to race. I will be there to cheer him on, for sure.

We love you Zenny. And don’t worry about Z Princess, she will be just fine.

Love you over the moon and back.

    Love

    Linda

England has its royal family led by a queen and we have ours led by a queen! May they both be happy and healthy for many years to come.

Also, wouldn’t it be wonderful if Zenyatta would parade at the Breeders Cup next year at Keeneland? I would get a ticket (if any could be had) for that alone.

Miss Z Princess is 6 months old already! How time has flown over the spring and summer. I hope the boys are doing well in training and Coz is getting closer to being ready to run his first race. Are you planning to run Coz in the 2015 Kentucky Derby?

So glad to see that Zenyatta is happy. I think this season of rest has done her mind and body good. Now with Princess weaned she has time to just be a fun-loving horse, free of kids for awhile :)

Has anyone heard or seen anything about Zenyatta’s full brother? I saw one pic of him not long after he was foaled, and nothing since. The recent loss of Street Cry made me wonder what has become of him.

Dear Max&Judy.I had forgotten to check my mailbox this morning and My Hovis book has come!!!Poor Karen had a difficult birth ,she had a C-section 8 weeks early due to pre-eclampsia and her father died shortly afterwards. He did get to see Lily but he’d had several strokes and passed away after returning to Spain. The one person that kept her sane through all of this was the big man himself Hovis.I’ll be starting to read it tomorrow or should I say today it’s 1.30am.Goodnight.Hugs Sheena.

How the photographer keeps his attention on the camera I have no idea-Zenny is too funny. She and her babies all know exactly where the camera is. Glad to see Z happy and curious and can’t wait to see Z Princess running with her pals..

    Dear BGG
Thanks for the links for the Alcibiades at Keeneland with Peace and War running a gutsy race in the mud. Her charge at the end showed she just needed a hole and she had lots left to finish with. A well deserved win from this War Front filly.

Time really has a way of flying when you are having fun. I’am reasonably certain John is about to unleash Coz into the Racing World. Perhaps an intro to a qualifying race for the Derby. I really believe we will see him in the Derby along with Jess’s Dream. I pray you safe trips, strong sound bodies, and specktacular health. As for our Z, the best for the best, your legacy is in very good hands.I have never ever seen such an amazing family of HorseFlesh ever. Each of them in their own right,Magnificent. They will make our Z,an all round Champion of Champions. May good racing luck be with you always Coz. I hope all is going well with Ziconic at the Mayberries in Fla, and to our Precious Princess, rest well, grow strong and sound and may you replicate the glorious fetes of your Mother
