Don’t think anyone posted this earlier. Pennmarydel, Barbaro’s last full brother, bled badly during his race at Keeneland. He is back home in Maryland and resting. He had Lasix but did not control the bleed. Nothing else except they say other than that he is happy and healthy.

      Dear Sheena,
Poor Gleneagles, 6th, made a good run but flattened out. Adian should have brought him here for a prep race as our ground is firmer. Glad Solow won, he is a very nice horse. May be coming to London next year in April and a visit to see you in Wales. What is the best way to get from London to your town? Would also love to see some jumps racing, too. A friend has a family home in London, how amazing to stay in that city for free.

Solow looked amazing! Wonder if Gleneagles will be coming across the pond? One of the TV guys blamed all of the times he was taken someplace but didn’t get to run.
I couldn’t follow what it was that Becky had done without Hovis that had him so riled up?

      Dear Sheena,
My friend has been coming to London since he was a little boy and his father now lives
In the family home. So hope to take at least two weeks and could not come without
coming to Wales, the most beautiful country in the UK. Is it only a few hours, like 4 hours?
Everything is so very close, maybe can also go to see Monty and Glesni. Will Cheltenham
be going on in April. Oh yes, Judy will tell you everything about lovely Wales and Sheena and of course posh London.

Bens Cat comes in second in the Sprint; all that extra weight- 8 lbs. Great stretch battle.
Sorry to hear about Penn, hope he recovers and goes on to race again. Not sure what
They will do with Gleneagles hard to have such a good horse that can only run on firm ground. So excited about Cheltenham, when is Baltazar King racing again what a tough
Horse, getting back in shape to do battle again.

I went with No. 1, Paid Up Subscriber (10 to 1). She finished out of the money. Appears all got through OK; most importantly. Love and Hugs, JB

On this day(18th)in 1995 Red rum died at around 8am in his stable. He was euthanised due to the infirmities of old age.He had celebrated his 30th birthday the previous May.Unlike other steeplechasers his career began just before his 2nd birthday. His first race was at Aintree where all those years later he would find such fame and where he was laid to rest near the winning post,a place he called home..Bred and sold cheaply he had about 5 different trainers, nearly 2 dozen jockeys he survived severe punishment in many of his early races but his spirit was strong. He survived the year of the cough, one of the worst diseases of the hoof.In 1972 he was bought by ‘Ginger’ McCain on behalf of Noel le Mare and his new home was a stable behind an used car lot in an ordinary street in Southport.Red and’Ginger became National heroes in the 1970’s The only horse to win the famous race 3 times and in 1974 he went on to win the Scottish Grand National just 3 weeks after the big one.Ginger often said he survived in spite of people. He will forever be remembered.RIP always Rummy.Hugs Sheena.

Anxious for the Dyfi calendar. Yes, Mango is quite the conversationalist. LOL especially when her brudder Jade is bothering her and when Mango and Abby got sent to bed early after fighting over chewies and Abby photo bombed Mango with the evil eye. Wittle Kate is staying with her mum, so Mango is hunting for a new wittle sissy, God and Katy Bug will send Mango a new sissy when they find one that needs all the love they can give her.
I was watching Ascot races today and saw a horse go down. I can’t even which race. I never heard the outcome. I don’t even remember if it was a filly or colt. Take good care. Hugs, Mary Margaret

    October 18 Cherokee Devotional

The plain and simple doorstep has tremendous value. At any time of day or night it offers the finest view, the tranquil quiet of the autumn woods and the flickering pattern of dancing leaves.
Sit here for a few moments and leaves drift down, a monarch butterfly feeds on a pot of petunias and wispy clouds show through holes in the trees’ canopy. A few industrious ants are still at work around the doorstep and watching them slows the heart beat and paces the spirit.
If it were not for this doorstep, much would slip by without notice. Peace would escape us, and time would be used in ways that took all and gave nothing.

I have learned a lot from trees; sometimes about the weather, sometimes about animals, sometimes about the Great Spirit.

Seabiscuit was my favorite book. I am going to rewatch the video. So loved
That little crippled horse that became a champion in a time we needed a
Champion in the US. Ryan also won the big race at Woodbine as well mile
And a half on a horse trained by Sir Micheal Stout funny a horse bred in Kentucky
By Lemon Drop Kid. Ryan is back his usual great riding. So looking forward to
Him and Frankie coming to ride GH in Breeders Cup. Will have to look up the video
On Battleship; so amazing those little horses have such big hearts especially a son of Man o War. Sorry to hear about Muhaarar’s retirement. Looking forward to Baltazar Kings

      Dear Sheena,
So sorry to hear about William Fox Pitt. It is bound to happen to an event we
Sometime but it still very tragic. Adian is such a character, I think he was just
Trying to get a race into him before coming to the BC. Gleneagles should like
The dirt it is very fast and firm, it will just be the kick back in a large field and
Hope he gets an outside draw. Ryan will need to keep the dirt out of his face, but
Adian will have some horses run in front of him at Ballydoyle so he does get dirt
In his face. However, a huge group of horses running in front with kick back will be too
Much for him, so he will not be able to run with cover like he is used to running in a turf
Race. I am not sure if he always runs with cover any way, would have to look at his previous wins. He may be very competitive as he likes firm ground to win some money
In this race like DOW would be awesome and would enhance his stud value to be able to run on dirt. The BCC with DOW coming in third between the two American horses was so exciting. I love DOW he is so versatile and talented. I hope Gleneagles does well. Beholder is going to be the challenge, but Gleneagles has a nice turn of foot on firm ground. Just my thoughts.
      Love and hugs

Dear Judy.I heard Gleneagles is coming over for the Breeders Cup.Aidan regretted running him on the dead ground yesterday. They have dirt at Ballydoyle for him to train but I am not keen on the idea.Love and hugs Sheena.

It may be that we stay in difficulty too long because of the habitual comfort of a familiar place. The ache for the old and familiar are parts of the spirit of hindrance that keeps us trying to overcome things without too much success.
A continual suggestion says that things are never going to be any different-that we can go no further and life can be no different. But it can! It can be different and it will as soon as we reject feelings of being frozen in space. Such feelings are signs that good change is in the offing and all we have to do is to walk and talk the part-and to show gratitude that the Great Spirit is ever with us.

Men must be morn and reborn to belong.
