Today is Zilkha’s “official” birthday and she is beginning her new year in John Shirreffs’s barn as she moves from the Mayberry’s farm into the next phase of her life. Welcomed and already adored by John, Mario and Carmen who were also her Mama’s trainer, groom and hot walker. In John’s words “She is a perfect height, well proportioned and extremely athletic” May all the stars align for her and that she enjoys many celebrations!!!

Belated Happy Birthday to “our John!” Loved the video of him and Zilkah! I can confirm that she was foaled outside. We were told that Zenny HATES being in the barn, and lots of foalings have been moved outside to cut down on the incidence of a diarrhea problem in foals. Nobody knows why that approach works, but it seems to be having considerable success.

Congrats to Desert Crown, Richard Kingscote, Sir Michael Stoute and all connections on the Cazoo Derby win at Epsom today! Desert Crown was brilliant, and Kingscote was so humble in giving the horse all the credit.
I was watching this on FS2 this morning and was bummed when the channel cut to the blasted soccer before 12! Soccer games always run over into the races or other events, but FS2 couldn’t wait 10 minutes to start soccer coverage. The crazy thing was there was nothing to watch except shots of the fans clapping! The game didn’t start until 11:55AM — it was scheduled to start at 12PM. I wanted to see the wrap-up of the horse race — horse racing fans were cheated!! We often get short-changed, it seems.

I just tried to watch the video of Zilkah’s work. it said I needed to get an account?! Really? is there some way to see it without paying? So glad to see she is working and settling in well.
My good news…. Rosey, my 13 month old vizsla finished her championship 2 weeks ago at a show in Yuba City, CA. She is now Champion Kiralyi Eleanor Rose! And the same weekend her litter brother also finished his championship. He is now Champion Kiralyi Jager Ma Ka Nalu. So exciting, 2 pups from the same litter finish just one day apart at the young age of 13 months! I am a very proud breeder! Both are entered in shows starting tomorrow through Sunday down in Vallejo. they will be entered in the Best of Breed Competition class, with the big kids! I do not expect a win, competition will be older mature and well trained dogs. I just want them to have fun! I will be handling Rosey. Jager’s owner, a good friend, is putting a professional handler on him!
