Cloud is already back at Belmont and is looking very good relaxing in his stall. NYRA has a video up. Handsome fellow. He can call Biscuits directly for provisions. He’s at Belmont too, maybe a barn over?
Chad B has yet to decide if Cloud will race in the Belmont. Not ruled out, but it seems that 12 furlongs may not be ideal for the Cloud.

          Dear Ann:

I didn’t see the interview, so I don’t know. But, I did check his Equibase chart and his first race, which he won, at Aqueduct in February this year lists Chad Brown as his trainer. So all his races have been with CB as trainer. Maybe before he actually raced, he might have been in training with others. He’s had only 4 starts: 2 wins, 1 second and 1 third. What a great accomplishment for this youngster winning the Preakness. Love and Hugs, JB

Angela sent me a video of Charlie competing in Dressage, but it is very blurry and not clear so I won’t share it here. I could see that he has a very proud strut; not yet lifting his front feet high enough, but looking quite magnificent. The girls said he was very well behaved and although he hasn’t been vanned since coming to the farm five years ago, walked right on. Don’t know if the girls will continue with the training, but I think they and Charlie enjoyed the experience. Love and Hugs, JB

Hi all; I just got back from a very wet and rainy stay up North at our cabin in Wi. What was exciting was the anticipation of the Preakness Race. I thought for sure Always Dreaming was in contest with Classic Empire. WOW, it did not happen. Congrats to Cloud. I personally did not like the commentators comment that it had to be running the easier rail with a difference in slop from the rest that Always Dreaming won the KD. I disagree. Always Dreaming ran with power and stamina and excelled in that race that is why he won. This is why having a Triple Crown winner is such a dream!!
He did not have the stamina two weeks later and I believe Cloud ran his first race of the triple crown races. Classic Empire had his stamina for his second race but fell short to a fresh horse. So what do they make of that? I am so happy most of all that no horse or rider was injured that I am aware of. It just makes me mad when commentators make statements that can not be contradicted on TV.
God bless all the horses and riders who now run in the Belmont. I hope all of you enjoyed watching the Preakness too.
    luv n hugs, Sally B

      Dear Sally,

I agree with you — seems to be poor form to belittle a great performance by saying the winner had it easy on the rail. Always Dreaming owned that Derby this year! Cloud Computing was outstanding yesterday in the Preakness! Huge Congratulations to both horses and connections on their brilliant wins. I, too, am happy that each one seems to have finished in good shape. Lookin at Lee finished in fourth — not bad coming from behind.

Sorry that Gunnevera had bleeding issues, and hope he regains full capabilities so he can race another day. Power Up, G!!

      Dear Sheena,
These little babe’s are so fragile. We have so many birds here at our home ‘sanctuary’. I’m always amazed when the little ones do make it. Right
now our bunnies are ‘ruling’ – babies abound! We have a momma flycatcher that makes a nest every year now by our front door. So we have to go out through the back door or open the garage door and go out. I think our neighbors probably do think we’ve ‘gone to the birds’ . . . and we have – not to mention the bunnies, squirrels.
Hope you have a lovely day. with love, Elizabeth

So sad to see negative comments on Loch Garten’s FB.As we all know Nature can be very beautiful or extremely sad.No new partner would have adopted EJ’s chicks He would have killed them so she has a much better chance of finding another male now and maybe breed next year. The same happened at Rutland back in 2014 when 33(11) a much stronger bird took over from 28(10) and pushed the eggs out of the nest.We have Aran at Glaslyn who has two partners and 5 chicks on the way so far he is coping only lost one egg to a carrior crow.It really is fascinating to watch.Have a beautiful day.

Time has been called on the stellar career of Solow winner of 5 group 1’sin 2015.He was back in training but has showed none of his sparkle. He is well and will spend his retirement at the Wertheimers stud Haras Saint Leonard. He injured his leg preparing to defend his turf crown in Dubai last year. One of their favourite memories is of him winning the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot in 2015 because their champion mare Goldikova had also won the same race.He will have a wonderful life now but will be sorely missed on the racecourse.Au RevoirX

Solow is a 7 year old gray gelding and had a rather long racing career, mostly because of that fact. He had a lot of success on the track and he’s retiring at the stud farm of one of the richest and most successful racing families in the world. He should have a very good life there. That’s pretty far from sad. Getting your career cut short like Royal Mo or his dad before him is more akin to sad.

We should all be as lucky as Solow. He’s retiring under the care of the people who own Chanel. He’ll never want to anything.

OK folks – perhaps I overstated the case. I agree that a situation like Royal Mo’s is much worse – just sorry to see a horse lose his sparkle as Sheena said (especially one I actually had seen race).

Think of the horse couture blankets that Solow will get. Karl Lagerfeld is the design director for Chanel. He’s also a lover of animals. His cat is celebrity cat famous.

I too, am wondering about Zenny and baby Z. Someone previously made a comment about the little filly having a club left foot. Is this true? If so, I wonder if and when a farrier will start treating her to correct the problem if there is one. I am so thankful to the Mosses for sharing Zenyatta, Cosmic One, Ziconic and the new Princess with all of us. Praying for all of them, Gormley and Royal Mo too,

Until the end of this world. These are attacks on our way of life and on our faith. They have been going on in one form or another for 2017 years. But these terrorists like the ones who came before them and those yet to come will never conquer us. Instead we will steadfastly go on. Look to the light.

      Dear Peggy,

Devil his Due was truly stunning. He definitely was a “black beauty” or pretty darn close to it. At least he did have senior years though. Condolences to all connections.
      RIP gorgeous boy.

It’s so nice to see our girl as a happy mother loving her baby again. She is so loving and attentive; she really enjoys being a mother so much! I notice that her fools all have her intelligence and curiosity. I’m so happy for her.

      Dear Sheena,

I, too, remember “The Saint” and enjoyed that series very much — revealing my age for sure. Sir Roger Moore was very suave and debonair. A truly nice man with a giving heart.
      Rest in Peace, Sir Roger.

Looking back at the date she was bred last year, wouldn’t Zenny have foaled earlier than May 9th? I know its not an exact science but even I know that a 12 month gestation plus a week is a little bit much. Just wondering about that and if the thought on who she will be bred to this year has been expressed yet?

      Dear Donna May:

I know, there was an announcement that Z was bred to Md’O on May 2, 2016, but that mating apparently was not successful and Z was covered again in June 2016. So our new Beautiful Baby Girl arrived this May. Love and Hugs, JB
