Hi Sandy, Concerning Ziconic; as I posted, I wish they would try blinkers on him, to get him in the race earlier. He does have a kick, and showed courage in his last race. He gets close, but he just can’t come from that far back. His mother has a longer stride, and can make up the difference; he is smaller, but robust. I’m afraid if he doesn’t win son, he will lose confidence, but if he wins, there will be no stopping him. It can’t hurt to try the blinkers, and wouldn’t it be great to see him do it?? He has shown he has the talent, he just needs help with his running style. No one can be as far back as Zenyatta use to be and win, that’s why she was so special, she did the impossible!!

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the day John Denver’s plane plunged into the Pacific Ocean killing him.
A recording of the song “Blizzard” recorded by John can be listened to on Spotify. This is a Judy Collins song recorded by John in the early 90s, but never before released. I think that the song is also available from Amazon.
Prayers for the people and animals in California where many of the wildfires are still out of control. Even those not in the path of the fires are affected because the smoke moved by the winds can impact breathing. May God protect the firefighters who are risking their lives to save others.
